Musica Juventutis has been active in promoting talents for more than 40 years
We are proud to have supported and shaped the passions and careers of more than 500 young Austrian artists during this time and look with gratitude and respect at the international successes of many exceptional talents whose path we have been able to accompany to some extent.
Our Mission
Musica Juventutis plays an important role in the live and career of man young musical talents in Austria, its main goals are to find and promote exceptional artist and provide entertaining and unconventional concert events. It plays a vital part for the famous Austrian music scene.
The club enables young musicians to give a concert in one of the most prestigious institutions of music in Austria to gain public recognition as well as experience at playing in front of the audience. Likewise the audience has the opportunity to witness the birth of a talent’s prosperous musical career.
Our Concept
Every year a selection of young, Austrian musical talents play in front of a top-class jury as part of Musica Juventutis.
The laureates of this competition win a concert performance, which takes place in the Schubert Hall at Wiener Konzerthaus and is recorded by the ORF. The “Intrada” program on Ö1 regularly broadcasts excerpts from our concerts.
Wiener Konzerthaus
The concerts take place at Wiener Konzerthaus which opened for public in 1913. It is located in the third district of Vienna next to the old town. Ever since its foundation this imposing build features music events with both traditional and innovative focus.
Schubert-Saal
Schubert-Hall provides an exciting stage for young talents and exceptional concerts in general, owed by its festive character and prominence. Since its renovation, it shines in new splendor and looks even more terrific.
Legacy
It is our very assignment to find and accompany young musical talents on their way to kickstart their careers – many of whom have come to great worldwide recognition within the scope of profession. Amongst those alumni are:
Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Selina Ott, Till Fellner, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Clemens Hagen, Angelika Kirchschlager, Julian Rachlin, Julia Hagen.
